Going for the Green: Becoming a Green Ribbon School

Description: Create a 2-3 min presentation to the School Board each month to remind them that sustainability in school operations will save money, resources and close the gap between the tremendous STEM curriculum delivered in the classroom, including the less than 10 years we have to reduce global emissions by 50%, and how our schools operate.

Explain the impacts of current operations including transportation, food waste, the food miles associated with the current menu, energy inefficiencies, and plastic waste. Provide your understanding of the changes that will reduce all these adverse environmental impacts and costs.

We can educate both the school board and the public with the free and open forum. You register to speak by the Monday before the Wed event.

Description: In 2019, our program helped MAST become the only U.S. Department of Education Green Ribbon school in Florida.

This year, our three year Fl. Dept. of Environmental Protection Green Apple certification is due for renewal and well will be going for the gold!

Description: This 3 day event is the biggest fundraiser of the year for MAST. Last year, we sold water bottles and fresh lemonade for a plastic free refreshment event.
